Tiger-flower by Pzychonoir Tiger-flower by Pzychonoir
Title correction, as told by :iconduggiehoo: this is not actually a Tiger Lily, however it had something of Tiger in it! glad I wasn't too far off!:D

The last survivor of my garden this year. I think they're tiger lillies, please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not such an expert, I just remember buying some seeds called under that name and planted them somewhere where these ones grew... the shot was taken in August, but there is one still dying in my garden right now, so they're pretty good, they flowered a lot more than I expected for being bulbs. :) I may post the yellow one of these days!:D

I'd say thats a tiger flower, not a tiger lily (close enough, lillies tend to have between five and six petals) This is gorgeous though :)

Yes, just corrected it! it's a bulb too! so yes, at the end of the summer I forgot what and where I planted what... lol, but I did have two large Tiger lilies then, but they were white and very fragant!:D. Glad you liked the pic! yes it was a surprise, as they came out when I thought that was it for the summer.. :) Mind I have now laods of purple ostoespernum, or whatever they're written!:D I just don't tend to go in the garden often with this weather, I shall from next Monday onwards! can't wait to finish work!

Well it's an easy mistake to make :) I've been really lazy about the garden recently since the weather's been more or less solid rain and wind (good old English weather) though I did plant up some of the oodles of tulip bulbs mum bought home. Somehow I got landed with planting all of hers as well as mine. Other than that I'm about done until the new year. Going to try and restrain myself from planting any more indoor seeds until the warmer weather... may have to just hide my seed box for a few months :D

well, planting is not bad, is it? but yeah, you might find yourself lacking room in the house at that rate! if you plant all your seeds, plus is a pain going and checking everyday in hopes of seeing something green coming out, as it could take good two or three weeks wondering if something will ever come out!! :)

hahaha we have more or less run out of room as it is :D We cant actually see the table any more under all the green shoots AND I've taken over the windowsill and the top of the fridge We need a little more sunlight though and sunlight-lightbulbs are so expensive :D

So far I've been very lucky with things growing from seed, all I lost was my winter lettuce and marigolds but then I accidentally left them on the livingroom windowsill overnight and they caught the chill. I just cant wait to get outside and dig some more veggie beds. Last year I only did a basic herb garden and room for the currants but there is a lot more to do. And I'm itching to go spending on more plants from my favourite garden website. It's becoming a worse addiction than the tattoos :D

Aww.. I'm sorry about your loss.. but well.. you'll manage next year, surely you'll remember to take them out of the window sill at night for next year! :D, and if you grow vegs you can even make a living out of it!:D

Haha yeah that's the plan. I'm thinking of setting up a veg stall in the front garden and selling the things I grow. There's a little old man in the village whos been doing that for as long as anyone can remember... I reckon it's time for a little competition :D

Tigridia pavonia...in English common names are Shell flower or Tiger-flower. It is not of the lily family. It is of the Iridaceae family.

So no, not a Tiger lily.

Beautiful shot!!
